Civil litigation is when two or more persons or businesses have a dispute over money. Some examples of disputes that would be tried as civil litigation are breach of contract, personal injury, malpractice, and landlord/tenant disputes.

Civil litigation is when an individual takes action in court compared to cases where the government takes an individual to court.
